Bank Support Workers

Flexible roles where you can make a difference

Home > Our Roles > Bank Support Workers

Sometimes, a full-time role and regular hours just don’t fit in with your life. Perhaps you have children or relatives to care for, are also studying or have other commitments.

As a Bank Support Worker at Look Ahead, you get a flexible role, where you can work the hours that suit you and enjoy the right work-life balance. It comes with competitive pay, essential training and the chance to make a difference to many people’s lives.

As a Bank Support Worker, you could be working with people who are homeless or rough sleeping; young people and care leavers; teenage parents; people with learning disabilities, mental health needs; or families fleeing domestic abuse. Each of these people has their own hopes, struggles, goals and interests and goals - which you’ll understand and support. Your tasks will be as varied as these people’s needs. That means you could be helping them learn life skills, live independently, connect with their community or cope with difficult situations.

What you need

While this work can often be challenging, it’s also hugely rewarding when you see customers making progress. Although you don’t need previous care experience, it can certainly help, along with a calm, resilient nature. However, what we’re really looking for is a positive, non-judgmental attitude and respect towards all. Friendly, practical and organised, you’ll work well as part of a team and take challenging behaviour in your stride.

Our Bank Support Workers have all sorts of backgrounds and work across all our services. It’s a great way to gain experience. And of course, we’ll do our best to make sure you feel at home.
